Celibrity Angelina Jolie is not planning on adopting a child in Haiti

The Oscar-winning actress was in Haiti recently, working on improving children's welfare and safety in the earthquake-damaged country.

British newspapers have claimed that the actress was planning on adding a 4-year-old Haitian orphan named Leah, but Jolie's spokesperson denies that the actress has met the girl or is planning to add to her brood of six children.

"Earlier this week, the Daily Mirror U.K. and others reported that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in the process of adopting a child from Haiti," Jolie's representative Adam Waldman told The Daily Beast. "There is no truth to these rumors. Rather, Ms. Jolie is focused on enhancing the welfare and legal protection of children within Haiti.
As such, she has been meeting with government of Haiti officials, Haitian legal experts and non-governmental organizations regarding a new initiative of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The recently launched Jolie Legal Fellows Program will assist the justice system in Haiti to improve child protection."

Jolie and her partner, actor Brad Pitt have six children, including three who were adopted from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia.

Jolie was named a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador in 2001 and donated $1 million to relief efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
