Paris Hilton Cy Waits Shop For Rings

NEW YORK -- Wedding bells may be just around the corner for Paris Hilton and her beau, Cy Waits, the New York Post reported Saturday.

The pair were spotted shopping for engagement rings Friday at New York's Jacob & Co., where they examined an array of baubles, including a 30-carat rare blue diamond.

The couple couldn't decide on a ring, but Hilton did not leave empty-handed, the Post reported.

She walked out sporting a $25,000 black diamond-encrusted ring for her 30th birthday.

Hilton celebrated with Charlie Sheen's ex, Denise Richards, at Asellina on Thursday.

While at nightclub Lavo she told the Post she looks forward to being engaged.

"We've talked about it," she said. "This is once in a lifetime. I want to be with him forever."

Unlike ex-fiance Paris Latsis, who gave her a fake ring, she said, "[Waits] has great taste. He just bought me a beautiful sports car."

She even weighed in on foreign affairs: "I was just in Egypt a few weeks ago, and I felt totally safe. They should have freedom of speech and be able to use the internet."

Jennifer Aniston Gets All of the Blame None of the Credit

She’s still, for some mysterious reason, seen as such a loser that she recently felt compelled to insist to People magazine that she’s not “unhappy,” as people seem to believe. Yes, being gorgeous, rich, uber-successful and considered the country’s most eligible bachelorette must be an incredibly misery-inducing experience.

But then there’s her increasing reputation as box office poison. Put her in a movie, like Management, Love Happens, The Bounty Hunter or The Switch, and watch it tank.

“At what point will Hollywood give up on Jennifer Aniston?” asked Forbes’ Dorothy Pomerantz. After those four stinkers, it was a reasonable question.

Advance reviews of her latest, Just Go With It, co-starring Adam Sandler, drew all-new cries of derision.

“What is it with Jennifer Aniston?” snarked Elizabeth Weitzman in the New York Daily News. “Commitment issues? Low self-esteem? Because there’s got to be a reason she makes so many poor choices. I’m speaking, of course, about her taste in scripts, which is so baffling it’s time to suggest either therapy or a change in management.”

But lo and behold, Just Go With It, despite a mostly withering critical reception, somehow beat out pubescent heartthrob Justin Bieber’s documentary, Never Say Never, with $31 million in box office receipts to Bieber’s $30.3 million. Belieber it.

So now Aniston must look pretty smart right? Wrong.

“Adam has again showed himself to be amazingly adept at understanding what audiences want to see,” Sony worldwide president of distribution Rory Bruer told the Hollywood Reporter, not mentioning Aniston.

Sure, Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison, produced the rom-com, but it’s unlikely anyone goes to see a film for its producer.

“Adam Sandler carried on his string of box office success emerging as top grosser in this week’s box office,” crowed the News Chronicle, also not throwing Aniston a bone.

This is reminiscent of the no-love pundits who declared that Aniston’s major hits, Bruce Almighty and Marley & Me, were the sole work of Jim Carrey and a golden retriever, respectively.

Aniston, whose face and love life has sold a gazillion tabloids and magazines over the past decade, clearly has a following. Why won’t anyone admit it?

Halle Berry's Sister Refutes Claims Over Dad's Abuse

HALLE BERRY's estranged sister has spoken out to slam the actress' allegations their dad was an abusive alcoholic, and insists she was also never aware of any racism the star endured at school.

The Oscar winner cut ties with her four siblings five years ago and her eldest sister, Renee Berry, has since reached out to the star to get back in contact.

Berry has previously discussed her father's abusive and alcoholic ways, saying, "I saw my mother battered, and could not do anything to stop it. My father was tyrannical, lashing out at her for no reason."

And the star claimed her dad Jerome sold his story of their estrangement "for a pack of beer and cigarettes" before his death in 2003.

But now her sibling has spoken out to defend their father, insisting he "was a good man".

She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "My father never beat any of us. He would spank us from time to time, but he never abused us. He liked a drink or two, like anyone else does, but he was not an alcoholic. My father was a good man who loved all his children - and it makes me upset when anyone says anything different."

Renee also refutes claims Berry was subjected to bullying taunts throughout her school life in Ohio because of her ethnicity.

She adds, "I never saw any of that. Halle and her sister Heidi had lots of friends at school. I don't remember racism being a problem."

Juanes Shakira win at Lo Nuestro music awards

Colombian musicians Juanes and Shakira each take home the prize of best Latin American artist in their respective fields from the Lo Nuestro music awards, Vive reports Friday.

Juanes was rewarded with the artist of the year prize in the category of alternative rock, while his further win for song of the year, with his hit "Yerbatero," means that the Medellin native was successful in both the categories in which he competed.

The Lo Nuestro award ceremony, which was held in Miami, celebrates the best in Latin American talent and was the 23rd edition of the event.

The same cannot be said of Shakira, whose song "Lo hecho esta hecho" (What's done is done) was beaten to the title of best song by Mexican trio Camila.

Nevertheless, the Colombian songstress did manage to fend off competition including Nelly Furtado to be named the Female Artist of the Year.

The ceremony also featured the worldwide premiere of Juanes' song "Regalito," which he performed live.

In his ground-breaking acceptance speech, Juanes dedicated his awards to "my beautiful wife Karen, to my children. To all the fans, wherever you are, this is for you."

Scarlett Johansson may or may not be dating Sean Penn

Recently separated actress Scarlett Johansson has been friends for many years with actor Sean Penn, but a recent surge in the frequency of their meetings has some speculating that they may be dating.

Johansson was said to be devastated when her soon-to-be ex, Ryan Reynolds, was seen in the company of Sandra Bullock only one week after the separation.

Scarlett herself has not been able to muster the strength to date yet. Or has she? Lots of different reasons have been given for Scarlett spending time with Sean Penn.

Not only are they friends, but Penn has been living in Haiti and Charlotte is planning on traveling there.

Rumor has it that Charlotte may simply be asking Sean for travel tips.

Former Baywatch Star Sues Ex Boyfriend Over Promised Condo

TV star Pamela Anderson is suing her ex-boyfriend, claiming he had promised her a condominium or $1 million during their relationship.

According to TMZ, the former Baywatch star and Playboy model filed the federal lawsuit in Los Angeles against real estate mogul Laurence Hallier, who Anderson alleges told her she could have a free condo unit at the Panorama Towers in exchange for her help in promoting the luxury-class development being built in Nevada.

The lawsuit claims that Hallier, who Anderson reportedly dated off and on between 2006 and last year, had told the celebrity that she would get $1 million in cash if the project was not completed on schedule. The condo was reportedly not completed on time, and Anderson never received any payment.

Construction on the first phase of Panorama Towers on Dean Martin Drive in Las Vegas was completed in 2006. The fourth phase of the complex is on hold indefinitely.

Anderson currently lives in an upscale trailer park on Malibu beach with her two teenage sons after experiencing financial problems while renovating her oceanfront mansion.
